Descendant or Ancestor?
In the first editions of CoS Dumledore calls Lord Voldemort "the last
remaining ancestor of Salazar Slytherin". This has been confirmed as a simple error by JKR. (conf.)
Godric's Hollow and Godric Gryffindor - Coincidence?
Q: Harry's Parents lived in Godric's Hollow. Is this somehow related to
Godric Gryffindor?A: In a BBC interview, JKR hinted strongly at the connection by mentioning a
conversation she had had with her editor. "Don't you notice anything about the name of the place where Harry's parents lived? [para.]" However, we will have to wait for the next books to find out more.
